SERVICES

Every child develops differently, and sometimes
a little extra support can make a big difference

At Wonder Elm, we celebrate each child’s unique strengths and honour their way of experiencing the world. Together with families, we support children in developing the skills they need to participate confidently in everyday life, whether at home, at school, or in their communities.

Because we know that today’s first flutter can become tomorrow’s full flight.

Not Sure Where to Start?

You don’t need to figure it out alone.

Many children benefit from support across multiple areas, and our team works collaboratively to determine the best starting point. During the intake process, we help guide families toward the service that best supports their child’s needs.

What Happens During the First Visit

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but our goal is to make the experience comfortable, collaborative, and positive for both children and parents.

1. Getting to Know Your Child

The first session focuses on understanding your child’s strengths, interests, and areas where support may be helpful. We will talk with you about your concerns and your child’s developmental history.

2. Play-Based Assessment

For most children, assessment happens through play, movement, and interaction rather than formal testing. This helps us observe how your child communicates, moves, problem-solves, and participates in activities.

3. Collaborative Goal Setting

We work together with families to identify meaningful goals that support your child’s daily life at home, school, and in the community.

4. Creating a Therapy Plan

Based on the assessment, your therapist will recommend a personalized therapy plan and discuss the next steps with you.

Our goal is for every child to leave their first visit feeling safe, understood, and excited to return.
